In Tuesday night’s debate, President Obama and Governor Romney clashed on immigration policy. The first mention of immigration came from the President when he said that unlike President Bush, Gov. Romney does not support comprehensive immigration reform and referenced Romney’s prior statements suggesting a policy of “self-deportation”.
Both candidates stressed the need to reform our legal immigration system, with President Obama saying that his administration has worked to streamline the process for people coming to this country legally.
The candidates also discussed their policies regarding undocumented residents who came here as kids.
