I read this book for class, so I ultimately ended up paying more attention to the page numbers than the story. But nevertheless, it certainly has a fast-paced plot, right up until the last page (the end was the part that really grabbed me). It is about an Indian girl who immigrates illegally to the US after her husband is killed. Definetly an eye-opener, and a nice look at identity in relation to place. With every time she traveled, the protaganist became a different version of Jyoti, like a shapeshifter. it resonanted with me.
