Call ICE - John Morton @ 202.732.3000
Sample Script: ”Hi, I was calling to ask that the deportation of Jesus Torres Salayandia (A# 098-724-633) be stopped. Jesus came to the U.S. when he was 6 years old. He is a college student who has dreams of starting his own business. Jesus is an active member of his community and church. President Obama said undocumented youth were not a priority for deportation. Please don’t deport Jesus.”PLEASE SHARE THIS PETITION AND ACTION ALERT WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
The PetitionTo ICE Officer Kenneth Carlson, Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security, John Morton; and Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano:
We, the undersigned, write to request that you take immediate action to stop the deportation of Jesus Torres Salayandia (A# 098-724-633) from Belton, Missouri.
In 2010, Jesus was stopped for a traffic violation, and despite having no criminal record, he was detained and turned over to ICE. On March 8 of this year, Jesus appeared before an immigration judge where his attorney asked for Prosecutorial Discretion and was denied. Additionally, ICE agents were waiting outside and immediately detained him. He was recently released from jail but still faces deportation.
When Jesus was 14 years old, ICE placed him into deportation proceedings and forced him to depart voluntarily. Seeing as he had no support system in Mexico and his entire family was in Missouri, Jesus came back to the United States, graduated from high school, and began his college education.
While people of color and undocumented people have much to lose with Arizona’s anti-immigration law SB 1070 on the books, Corrections Corporation of America, the country’s largest private prison company, has much to gain.
