Camden: Did you know undocumented immigrants paid approximately 275 million in taxes in 2010?
Jacob: Just in Maryland right?
Will: about 4 times that amount is spent upkeeping the US military per DAY.
Camden: That is just in MD Jacob. Yeah it is unfortunate will.
Zackery: How do they know what undocumented immigrants paid? and what about all the taxes they skimped out on, sure that number is impressive nationwide.
Emanuel: Although undocumented immigrants can't enjoy all of the lovely services that this country provides to its citizens
Kimberly: some multibillion dollar companies who exploit land and labor in other countries at the expense of third world peoples, as well as local working class folks here don't pay taxes either...example: Exxon, GE
Camden: zackery "These estimates are based on a model developed by the Institute for Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP). The ITEP methodology relies on three pieces of data: 1) an estimate of each state’s unauthorized population; 2) the average family income for unauthorized immigrants; and 3) state-specific tax payments."
also, they pay into all these programs, especially medicare and social security that they can't get anything back from.
i am sure the taxes that americans skimp out on is just as impressive....
Emanuel: Around 40 % of Americans don't have to pay taxes anyway given our current tax code as do numerous companies
